I was watching a football Superbowl one year and the team that was playing was Seattle. It came down to the play on the goal line. In this particular game, the running back Marshawn Lynch needed only 1 yard to win the game. It was second down; it could be argued that Seattle would have had 3 times to score and win the game. What play did the coach call?
In my humble view, it was the worst call that I ever witnessed. He called a pass play right across the middle of the end zone. Guess what happened to that pass? That’s right you guessed it. It was an interception by Malcolm Butler. This play was for the Super Bowl. Some would even say that the coach wanted the quarterback to make the winning play and he could have gotten the MVP of the game. One can also make an argument that if Marshawn Lynch would have gotten the ball and made the touchdown, he would have been the MVP.
